Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-litigation counseling and risk-mitigation advice; negotiate settlements if appropriate.
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with senior litigation attorneys and partners.
  • Coordinate discovery, including e-discovery, document review and production.
  • Research and draft motions including dispositive motions and requests for extraordinary relief.
  • Assist team with preparing and presenting cases at evidentiary hearings and at trial.
  • Assist senior attorneys in researching and drafting filings in federal and state appellate courts.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service and communication.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Texas or District of Columbia would be a plus).
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience, (e.g. mid-size to large law firm; government agency or department; public interest law firm; or similar).
  • Superior written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and case management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple high-stakes matters simultaneously.
  • Experience with case strategy, discovery, depositions, briefing dispositive motions, and trial preparation.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery tools and best practices in managing electronically stored information.
  • Comfortable working on matters involving Republican and center-right candidates, committees, and causes.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and billable hour commitment
  • Ability to work from our Washington, DC office or remotely from anywhere in the United States
  • Ability to work on high-visibility, high-stakes cases on the leading edge of the political law landscape
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
