Job Description

The primary objective of this position is to improve the efficiency and productivity of the Gulbrandsen Inc. worksite. This will be accomplished by providing maintenance, electrical, and facilities teams with detailed job plans, including technical specifications, machinery and breakdown history, parts and tools lists, and safety procedures in an organized manner. The Maintenance Planner will review each work requirement and job site to ensure the work is reasonable and valid, identify constraints, and verify that all preparatory work has been completed before job scheduling. The position will also develop SOPs and work instructions as required and maintain records of completed work to support compliance requirements.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for preparing all planned activities to be executed by Gulbrandsen Inc. maintenance employees, service companies, or contractors. In this role, the Planner will work closely with the maintenance teams on the following tasks and responsibilities, reinforcing day-to-day preparation, job planning, and scheduling: ● Develop standards for routine maintenance activities, including outage hours, staff required, and component cost. ● Develop and add pertinent information to work orders and job plans to facilitate proper execution. ● Clearly define the scope of work to be performed. ● Establish preparatory work required before scheduled equipment downtime. ● Develop detailed job plans with all work sequences necessary to complete repairs correctly. ● Determine and list all safety procedures associated with the work to be performed. ● Develop tool lists specific to the jobs to be performed. ● Provide parts lists with reference numbers and locations for every work order and verify required parts are identified before job scheduling. ● Ensure all technical specifications and special instructions are provided to maintenance and civil/facilities teams. ● Determine the cost involved for parts and supplies for each work order, job, and/or project. ● Request all non-stock parts and materials required by the job plan. ● Coordinate work scheduling with project managers, engineers, area managers, supervisors, and appropriate team leaders.

● Work with supervisors, team leaders, and managers to establish and maintain a system for proper storage of pre-work materials and parts for pending work and ensure kitting takes place as appropriate. ● Assist in the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting. ● Ensure shutdown and project plans remain within budgeted costs and committed deadlines. ● Utilize various measuring devices to ensure component and work conformity. ● Support the management of Change (MOC) activities from the planning function perspective in affected areas. ● Support, initiate, and implement site cost-reduction initiatives. ● Additional responsibilities as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS:

● Requires skills in communication, computers, and software (CMMS, Google Docs), project management, planning, and organization.

● Ability to take direction, utilize information, and execute.

● Strong organizational skills with the ability and desire to drive change with little to no direction.

● Ability to manage multiple deadlines, competing priorities, and contingency planning in a dynamic environment.

● Overall knowledge of industrial, electrical, and mechanical equipment.

● Excellent written and oral communication skills.

● Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

● Excellent teamwork skills.

PREFERRED:

● Advanced SAP knowledge

● Associate's degree or higher in a related technical field or significant years of experience

● Advanced skills in Project Management

● Working knowledge of PSM, OSHA guidelines, and Gulbrandsen Safety expectations

SPECIFIC DUTIES: In conjunction with maintenance team leaders and F&A, update and maintain equipment parts catalogs, develop equipment-related job planning information where none currently exists, and develop equipment and tool lists for jobs as needed. The Planner will be responsible for communicating equipment specification changes to the Maintenance Team. The Planner will review all existing job plans on a regular basis and ensure they are up to date, contain all pertinent information, and are communicated to the appropriate parties. The Planner will also verify materials and parts conformity upon receipt as it relates to planned maintenance work. A successful Maintenance Planner must be fully competent in the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g., SAP), with knowledge of work order tracking systems and requisitioning processes, as well as software packages such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD. ● High school or equivalent (Required)
