We are excited to announce the opening of a new Japanese fine dining restaurant and are seeking a dynamic, experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will handle daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the culture and operations of a prestigious culinary establishment from day one, bringing authentic Japanese cuisine to our community.


You will work directly alongside an Executive Sushi Chef who holds decades of Michelin stars. This is an unparalleled opportunity to join a team with immense career upside. We are looking to build a dedicated team who deeply values the art of sushi and sincere hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve high-end Omakase courses and d eliver sincere hospitality by engaging with guests and explaining fish origins, preparations, and techniques.
  • Execute precise fish breakdown, curing, aging, and knife work according to strict culinary standards and monitor inventory, manage food waste, and ensure the absolute freshness of all ingredients.
  • Uphold impeccable sanitation, food safety, and cleanliness standards at the sushi counter and work seamlessly with the Executive Chef and front-of-house team to deliver a flawless dining flow.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience at a high-end sushi or Omakase counter.
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication skills with a warm, professional demeanor suitable for open-kitchen interaction.
  • Advanced Japanese knife skills and deep knowledge of traditional sushi rice preparation and fish aging.
  • High standard of personal grooming, precision in food presentation, and strict adherence to food safety codes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure opening environment.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary: $65,000-85,000/year plus tips
  • Full-time schedule, 40-50 hours/week
