Job Description

Clinton Community College is seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic individual to join Clinton Community College. CCC, a member of the State University of New York system, invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Criminal Justice and Psychology/Sociology. The Criminal Justice and Psychology/Sociology faculty reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the position is effective with the Fall 2026 semester.

Minimum salary is $50,044.30

QUALIFICATIONS

1. A master's degree in criminal justice, or a bachelor's degree in criminal justice plus a Master's in a related field, is required.

2. Two years of teaching is preferred, preferably at a community college.

• Applicants who do not possess the above qualifications are encouraged to put in writing how their background and experiences have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position, and by providing appropriate references.
• Exceptions to the degree requirement may be made for compelling reasons as evidenced by other educational degrees and/or experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester in the following areas:

• Introduction to Criminal Justice
• Criminal Law
• Criminal Procedure Law
• Other areas, including Criminal Justice Ethics, Police Operations, Criminal Investigation,
• Corrections, Probation and Parole, Criminology, Security, Family Violence, and Juvenile Delinquency.
• Legal or state and local law enforcement experience is preferred.
• A candidate must also have qualifications to teach courses in adjacent fields, such as Psychology and/or Sociology.

2. Additional duties include conducting scheduled office hours for student conferences, academic advisement, and participation on college committees as assigned.
